🔸 Doha (Opening) श्रीगुरु चरन सरोज रज, निज मन मुकुर सुधारि। By cleansing the mirror of my mind with the dust of my Guru’s lotus feet, बरनऊँ रघुबर बिमल जसु, जो दायक फल चारि॥ I describe the pure glory of Lord Rama, which bestows the four fruits of life (Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha). बुद्धिहीन तनु जानिके, सुमिरौं पवन कुमार। Knowing myself to be ignorant, I remember you, O son of the Wind, बल बुद्धि विद्या देहु मोहिं, हरहु कलेश विकार॥ Grant me strength, wisdom, and knowledge, and remove my sufferings and impurities. 🔸 Chaupais (40 Verses) जय हनुमान ज्ञान गुण सागर। Hail Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtue. जय कपीस तिहुँ लोक उजागर॥ Hail the lord of monkeys, who is known in all three worlds. राम दूत अतुलित बल धामा। You are the messenger of Rama, abode of incomparable strength. अंजनि पुत्र पवनसुत नामा॥ You are known as the son of Anjani and the Wind God. महावीर विक्रम बजरंगी। O mighty hero, with limbs as strong as thunderbolt. कुमति निवार सुमति के संगी॥ You remove evil thoughts and are the companion of wisdom. कंचन वरण विराज सुवेशा। Golden-colored, beautifully adorned. कानन कुंडल कुंचित केसा॥ You wear earrings and have curly hair. हाथ वज्र और ध्वजा विराजे। You hold a thunderbolt and a flag. काँधे मूँज जनेऊ साजे॥ The sacred thread adorns your shoulder. शंकर सुवन केसरी नंदन। You are the incarnation of Shiva and son of Kesari. तेज प्रताप महा जग वंदन॥ Your glory is revered throughout the world. विद्यावान गुणी अति चातुर। You are knowledgeable, virtuous, and extremely intelligent. राम काज करिबे को आतुर॥ You are always eager to serve Lord Rama. प्रभु चरित्र सुनिबे को रसिया। You delight in listening to the stories of Rama. राम लखन सीता मन बसिया॥ Rama, Lakshman, and Sita dwell in your heart. सूक्ष्म रूप धरि सियहिं दिखावा। You assumed a tiny form to appear before Sita. विकट रूप धरि लंक जरावा॥ You assumed a fierce form and burned Lanka. भीम रूप धरि असुर संहारे। You took a terrifying form to destroy demons. रामचंद्र के काज संवारे॥ And fulfilled Lord Rama’s mission. लाय सजीवन लखन जियाए। You brought the Sanjeevani herb and revived Lakshman. श्रीरघुवीर हरषि उर लाए॥ Lord Rama joyfully embraced you. रघुपति कीन्ही बहुत बड़ाई। Rama greatly praised you. तुम मम प्रिय भरतहि सम भाई॥ And said you are as dear as his brother Bharat. सहस बदन तुम्हरो जस गावैं। Even a thousand mouths cannot sing your glory fully. अस कहि श्रीपति कंठ लगावैं॥ Saying this, Lord Vishnu embraced you. सनकादिक ब्रह्मादि मुनीसा। Sages like Sanaka and Brahma praise you. नारद सारद सहित अहीसा॥ Narada, Saraswati, and Sheshnag also sing your glory. यम कुबेर दिगपाल जहाँ ते। Even Yama, Kubera, and guardians of directions, कवि कोविद कहि सके कहाँ ते॥ Cannot describe your greatness fully. तुम उपकार सुग्रीवहिं कीन्हा। You helped Sugriva. राम मिलाय राज पद दीन्हा॥ And united him with Rama, restoring his kingdom. तुम्हरो मंत्र विभीषण माना। Vibhishana followed your advice. लंकेश्वर भए सब जग जाना॥ And became king of Lanka. युग सहस्त्र योजन पर भानू। The sun is thousands of miles away, लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू॥ Yet you swallowed it, thinking it to be a fruit. प्रभु मुद्रिका मेलि मुख माहीं। Holding Rama’s ring in your mouth, जलधि लांघि गए अचरज नाहीं॥ You crossed the ocean effortlessly. दुर्गम काज जगत के जेते। All difficult tasks in the world, सुगम अनुग्रह तुम्हरे तेते॥ Become easy with your grace. राम दुआरे तुम रखवारे। You guard the door of Rama. होत न आज्ञा बिनु पैसारे॥ No one can enter without your permission. सब सुख लहै तुम्हारी सरना। Those who take refuge in you find happiness. तुम रक्षक काहू को डर ना॥ With you as protector, there is no fear. आपन तेज सम्हारो आपै। You alone can control your power. तीनों लोक हाँक ते काँपै॥ The three worlds tremble at your roar. भूत पिशाच निकट नहीं आवै। Ghosts and evil spirits do not come near, महावीर जब नाम सुनावै॥ When your name is chanted. नासै रोग हरै सब पीरा। You remove diseases and suffering. जपत निरंतर हनुमत बीरा॥ By constant chanting of your name. संकट ते हनुमान छुड़ावै। Hanuman frees one from troubles. मन क्रम वचन ध्यान जो लावै॥ When one meditates on him with mind, actions, and words. सब पर राम तपस्वी राजा। Rama is the supreme king. तिन के काज सकल तुम साजा॥ And you accomplish all his tasks. और मनोरथ जो कोई लावै। Whoever brings desires to you, सोइ अमित जीवन फल पावै॥ Receives abundant blessings. चारों जुग परताप तुम्हारा। Your glory exists in all four ages. है परसिद्ध जगत उजियारा॥ You are famous throughout the world. साधु संत के तुम रखवारे। You protect saints and sages. असुर निकंदन राम दुलारे॥ Destroy demons and are dear to Rama. अष्ट सिद्धि नौ निधि के दाता। You grant eight powers and nine treasures. अस बर दीन्ह जानकी माता॥ As blessed by Mother Sita. राम रसायन तुम्हरे पासा। You possess devotion to Rama. सदा रहो रघुपति के दासा॥ Always remain his servant. तुम्हरे भजन राम को पावै। Through your worship, one attains Rama. जनम जनम के दुख बिसरावै॥ And forgets sorrows of many lifetimes. अंतकाल रघुवर पुर जाई। At life’s end, one goes to Rama’s abode. जहाँ जन्म हरि भक्त कहाई॥ And is reborn as a devotee. और देवता चित्त न धरई। No need to focus on other deities. हनुमत सेइ सर्व सुख करई॥ Serving Hanuman gives all happiness. संकट कटै मिटै सब पीरा। All troubles and pain are removed. जो सुमिरै हनुमत बलबीरा॥ By remembering mighty Hanuman. जय जय जय हनुमान गोसाईं। Victory to Lord Hanuman. कृपा करहु गुरु देव की नाईं॥ Bless us like a Guru. जो सत बार पाठ कर कोई। Whoever recites this 100 times, छूटहि बंदि महा सुख होई॥ Is freed from bondage and gains happiness. जो यह पढ़े हनुमान चालीसा। Whoever reads Hanuman Chalisa, होय सिद्धि साखी गौरीसा॥ Will attain success, Lord Shiva is witness. तुलसीदास सदा हरि चेरा। Tulsidas is always a servant of God. कीजै नाथ हृदय महँ डेरा॥ O Lord, reside in my heart. 🔸 Closing Doha पवन तनय संकट हरन, मंगल मूरति रूप। O son of the Wind, remover of troubles, embodiment of auspiciousness, राम लखन सीता
